Adipotide

FTPP (Fat-Targeted Pro-apoptotic Peptide), CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)2

Research useEducational entry
Mechanism

A synthetic chimeric peptidomimetic combining a homing motif (CKGGRAKDC, which binds prohibitin on white-adipose-tissue endothelium) with a pro-apoptotic domain, D(KLAKLAK)2. In animal models it is studied for inducing apoptosis of the blood vessels that supply white fat, causing the fat tissue to regress.

Evidence

Preclinical only — rodent and non-human primate (obese rhesus monkey) data. No completed human clinical trials. Reversible kidney (renal) toxicity was observed in primates. Not an approved drug.

Applications
  • Studied in rodents for adipose-tissue reduction
  • Non-human primate obesity models
  • Research into vasculature-targeted (anti-angiogenic) approaches to fat
Protocol

Educational overview only — no dosing instructions in the public hub.

Risks

Documented reversible renal toxicity in primate studies; no human safety data; not intended for human use. Sourcing/purity is an additional practical risk.

Quality

Third-party CoA (purity + quantification + MS) is the minimum verification.

Legal status

Research-use-only in most jurisdictions; not approved for human use anywhere. Never advanced past preclinical development.
